Ingredients

Serves : 4
  • 2 cups yellow lentil (moong daal)


  • 1 cups raw rice


  • 6 nos garlic cloves peeled off


  • 3 nos green chillies ,to taste


  • 1 tsp cumin seeds


  • 1/2 tsp aniseeds


  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder


  • 1 tsp coriander leaves(optional)


  • 200 ml vegetable oil for shallow frying


  • 1 pinch salt


  • 2 tbsp for serving - green chatney / dip


  • 2 tbsp mango's sweet n sour chutney/ dip

Directions

  • Wash yellow lentils and raw rice properly
  • Soak for 3 hours
  • Put rice, lentil, green chillies, garlic cloves and cumin seeds in a mixture jar and make fine paste from it
  • You can grind it in two batches
  • Now add carom seeds,turmeric powder,salt and coriander leaves n mix well
  • Add little water in batter to get desire consistency, It should be as thick as dosa batter so it will be spread evenly in the pan
  • Heat a heavy bottom fry pan/ tawa on high flame, Now reduce heat on medium heat
  • Sprinkle little water on pan,then wipe off with kitchen towel
  • Take one big spoon batter and spread fastly on preheated pan,Now sprinkle little oil on chila
  • Cook it for 2 minutes then turn it, Cook another side for 1 minute,Take out from pan
  • Repeat this process for rest of batter till lasts
  • Serve hot with any type of chatney/ dip as per your preference
